Visa
Fact sheet for visa application for Peoples Republic of China
Opening hours: 9 – 12 am
Acceptance of documents till 11:300 am
Basic information:
1. The Consulate General oft he Federal Republic of China in Frankfurt/Germany adapted application forms from the German Federal States of Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Northrhine-Westfalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
2. The Consulate is entitled, to classify visa application documents in accordance with the requirements of the Embassies and Consulates. The Consulate have the authority to decide whether a visa will be issued or not, the type of a visa to be issued as well as its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in accordance with China's relevant laws and regulations. The Consulate is eligible for approving or refusing visa applications and issuing visas, belong to the exclusive authority of the Embassies and Consulates, To mail application forms is not possible. All visa application forms have to be presented and collected personally or as representative (friends, travel agency or visa agency). A prior agreement on deadline is not necessary. All submitted documents remain in the Consulate.
3. Beginning with the day of issue the Visa is valid for 90 days. It is recommended to apply fort he visa 50 days before starting the journey to avoid risk that the visa has expired when entering, respectivelyan additional fee is charged for preferred processing due to a delayed visa application. When applying the visa lenght of stay in China hast o be decidet.
4. Handling time for issuing a visa is 4 working days. In exceptional cases a Express Visa is possible to apply. This will create an additional fee (30 Euro. The same is true of applying shortly before closing date and the collevting the visa on the following day. Beginning on January 1st express applications are only accepted in case of: visit of a serious ill person, very important appointments, field installation and maintenance. To these belong a written application including corresponding documents for case of emergency For process in between 2 or 3 working days an additional fee of 20 Euros is charged.
5. All datas in the application have to be checked while collecting the visa.
6. The Consulate is entitled to decide whether a visa will be issued or not, the type of a visa to be issued as well as its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in accordance with China's relevant laws and regulations. The Consulate is eligible for approving or refusing visa applications and issuing visas, belong to the exclusive authority of the Embassies and Consulates not giving any reasons.
7. The applicant hast to bear responsibility for any delay and costs which causes during process concerning disregarding the rules of this basic information.
Erforderliche Papiere für Einzelvisum:
Necessary documents for an individual visa:
1. Travel document/Passport. Vaidity min. 6 month, 1 empty page for the visa.
2.Visa application form duly completed (block letters) and passport photo.
3. Reisebestätigung vom Reisebüro für die Gruppentouristen.
4. Invitation of inviting persons for family reunification and visiting of friends. For both a copy oft he pasport or ID-card oft he inviting person is necessary.
5. Flight- and hotelreservation of those applicants, who organize their travel themselve.
6. For applicants from a third country outside European Union a long-term residence permit of Germany (original and copy) ist to enclose. For EU-citicens a proof of domicile and residence permit is necessary.
Business Visa – F Visa:
1. Travel document/Passport. Vaidity min. 6 month, 1 empty page for the visa.
2. Visa application form duly completed (block letters) and passport photo.
3. For applicants from a third country outside European Union a long-term residence permit of Germany (original and copy) ist to enclose. For EU-citicens a proof of domicile and residence permit is necessary.
4.Invitation letter from an authorized chinese authority or institution or a from your side authorized company in P.R.China.
Working Visa – Z Visa:
Z-Visa. Validity 3 month, single entry, duration of stay „000“. Holder of a Z-Visa are commited to register with administrative offices for public security in between 30 days after entry to receive a residence permit.
1. Travel document/Passport. Vaidity after entry min. 12 month, 1 empty page for the visa.
2. Visa application form duly completed (block letters) and passport photo.
3. For applicants from a third country outside European Union a long-term residence permit of Germany (original and copy) ist to enclose. For EU-citicens a proof of domicile and residence permit is necessary.
4. Work permit (original and copy) of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs P.R.China or Expert-document.
5. Official letter of advice (original) from an authorized bureau orinstitution.
6. Latest health check incl. HIV test. The form fort he health check could be downloaded from our website.
Visa for students – F or X Visa:
Purpose: Study at an university for min. 6 month. Fur study stay less than 6 month please apply for a Visiter visa: The study visa can be prolonged in China at the police if study is continued.
Depending the duration of stay there are two student visas:
1. Short student visa which corresponds a prolonged F-visa. Validity is 3 month, single entry and a maximum stay of 180 days.
2. Longterm student visa – X-visa: Validity is 3 month single entry, duration of stay „000“. Holder of a X-visa are commited to register with administrative offices for public security in between 30 days after entry to receive a residence permit. Following documents are necessary for applying a x-visa:
1.Travel document/Passport. Vaidity minimum 6 month and minimum 12 month after entry. 1 empty page for the visa.
2.Visa application form duly completed (block letters) and passport photo.
3.For applicants from a third country outside European Union a long-term residence permit of Germany (original and copy) ist to enclose. For EU-citicens a proof of domicile and residence permit is necessary.
4.Certificate of matriculation oft he university (original and copy). The original hast o be signed by the applicant on both sides. It will be send back after the processing visa procedere.
5.Visa form issued by the Ministry of Education P.R. China (original and copy).
6.Latest health check incl. HIV test.(not necessary for students of elementary school and secundary school). The form fort he health check could be downloaded from our website.
Fact sheet for applying a visa for Macao
Currently there are 36 countries who have visafree entry to macao (among them also Germany, USA, Portugal). Citicens of other countries shall apply for a visa upon arrival at the airport Macao.

Fact sheet for applying a visa for Hong Kong for German citicens
German citicens are allowed to entry Hong Kong visafree for short term stays with a max. duration of 90 days. For following situations you have to apply a visa at the Consulate General p.R. China or at the Bureau of immigration of Hong Kong.
1.The duration of stay is longer than 90 days.
2.Entry serves to take up employment, long-term relocation, performance, event, trade fair or exhibition.
3.Stay serves study, job training, continued education in diffenrent sections.
Following documents are necessary for applying a visa for Hong Kong are to be presented tot he Consulate General P.R. China in Frankfurt/Main:
1.Visa application form duly completed (block letters) and 2 passport photos.
2.Additional documents and proofs of identity are tob e presented on request.
As the immigration office in Hong Kong is responsible for the authorization process it is not possible to schedule the processing time. Express processing is not possible. For more information please refer tot he web page.
